VAG Transportation Engineering Consultants (vagtec) is a transportation and traffic engineering consulting firm established in Puerto Rico in 2010.   With over 40 years of combined experience, our principals are registered professional engineers with proven track records in the field.  In the past decade, our uncompromising dedication and commitment to quality have made us the consultant of choice of Puerto Rico’s lead developers, architects, engineers, and real estate owners.  We are certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) in Puerto Rico.

      

Vanessa Amado, PhD, PE, FITE

President and Lead Engineer

 

Holds a doctoral degree in civil engineering and over 20 years of experience in transportation engineering research and consulting.  She has taught advanced transportation engineering courses and works as a consultant for some of Puerto Rico’s oldest and most reputable development, architecture and engineering firms. She holds professional engineer (PE) license in Puerto Rico and the State of Florida.  Dr. Amado has managed several transportation and highway design projects and has extensive experience conducting traffic flow modeling and transportation data analysis.  She is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and of the Eno Center for Transportation.

 

Gustavo A. García, PE

Vice President

 

Holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in Puerto Rico.  With over 20 years of experience, Gustavo’s broad skill set is comprised of capabilities in both the administrative and technical fields, such as business management and development, accounting and finances, proposal writing, preparation of cost estimates, cost control, scheduling, procurement and expediting, contract negotiation and management, quality assurance, occupational safety and health, traffic engineering, traffic signal systems, traffic data collection and analysis, and transportation research.  Gustavo is an alumnus of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Babson College in Boston.
